Regarding the Equifax Data Breach
Equifax has recently reported a data breach that could have affected up to 143 million American consumers. While we do not use Equifax in our business, if you have a credit card, car loan or mortgage you may have still been affected. There is a quick check site set up by Equifax at https://www.equifaxsecurity2017.com/potential-impact/, which will allow you to see if your data was at risk.
Equifax is also offering a free year of identity protection and credit file monitoring to all US consumers even if you were not impacted by the breach. You can access this by clicking on the enroll button that will pop up after running the potential impact check above.
For more information on preventing Identity Theft, we’ve found this site to be very helpful https://www.consumer.ftc.gov/features/feature-0014-identity-theft. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions or concerns, or if we can be of further assistance.
